After mourning the loss of their son, their brother, and their close friend, the friends and family of Kyle Kalousdian wanted to find a means to honor and celebrate his life. Despite Kyle’s achievements and success in pursuing his dream to become a public servant, his life ended just short of him realizing his ultimate goal — becoming a firefighter. In wake of Kyle’s missed opportunity to realize his dream, his friends and family set out to help others that share Kyle’s ambitions to obtain the goal that eluded him. It was out of that thought that the Kyle Kalousdian Memorial Scholarship, at Macomb Community College, was born. Kyle was a proud alumnus of the Macomb Community College Fire Academy and took great pride in that achievement. The Kyle Kalousdian Memorial Scholarship is an endowed fund, that provides multiple scholarship awards per year, to help aspiring firefighters offset the cost of tuition, supplies, and fire equipment. The endowment continues to grow as funds are raised, which enables increased scholarship disbursements to provide more help to more individuals. Kyle’s friends and family are proud to see his legacy being carried on in a field that meant so much to him.
We are proud to say that 100% of funds raised from this event go directly to this endowment to help aspiring firefighters in the surrounding area.
